Minimum Thickness - Disc rotors all have a specified minimum thickness. When disc rotors have worn to this minimum thickness they must be replaced. One of the many reasons for this minimum thickness is structural integrity which obviously has a direct relationship to safety. The allowed wear on disc rotors from new to minimum thickness is usually in the region of 2mm or less. That's only 1mm or less per disc face!
